updates on the Wiki frontier
i created a SLVEC_coaching_postponed template.
why? well - i've been terribly, terribly sick for the past several days; i was supposed to conduct a session on lag but at the last minute, the only thing i had the strength to do was postpone the session! (apologies to all those who wanted to attend!)
so i updated the 'coaching classes' wiki page, did a few tweaks to my personal page, and posted this message here. now it's back to bed.

§ i updated my wiki profile more
- added (what i think is) an interesting section: noteworthy people
§ i need to pull my 'canceled class' from the classes page
§ tomorrow, i want to add (at least place-holders) for my SL projects -- current and planned
i want to ...
- pick up a copy of Snapz PRO X for creating machinema
- (and there was one more thing but i fucking forgot!) [[age sux]]
i'm going to bed.

more updates -- how things move
yet again ... i'm faced with 'no interest' in my 'Mac Primer ...' class; i've canceled it. (i just couldn't bear the idea of giving up my lunch hour for either a no-show session or just 1 attendee.
it seems that SVC-1910 no longer references my llTargetOmega issues. i've been advised to move my problem to VWR-5895.
i've updated my wiki profile. there's a bunch more i want to do. two key items are 'noteworthy people' and a projects list (will drill-down pages).

well -- i guess i'm going to have to start keeping this up-to-date
yesterday --- i refined my SLVEC_coaching template. i added an 'RSVP' field. i've found many people using tools like SurveyMonkey to gather some useful information as well as a way for others to express interest/intention of attending a class. so ... i've started using SurveyMonkey and so i added the 'RSVP' field. (the field can actually be anything: plain text, a link, a 'mailto' link, ...)
Zai pointed out that 'RSVP' might not be 'international' enough. so i'm seeking a more universal (and succinct) way to say 'please click here to express your intention to attend'
today -- i added a new template SLVEC_coaching_cancelled -- a quick way to cancel a coaching session. all you need to do to 'cancel' a calss is to change the tamplate's name on the classes page and add the reason field. all the other fields can stay. (that makes 'reversal of cancellation' quick and simple). when you cancel a class, the HTML loses the 'm2m_...' ID's so the page is no longer easily scrapable by automated tools.
today i also tweaked my wFont template. in the description/instructions, i failed to list the text field.
on another note ... it seems no one is really interested in my Mac Primer for Non-Mac Mentors classes. this is like my fifth offering of the class and, to date, i've had a total of seven people attend. ((sigh)) looks like this will be the 1st test of my cancellation template. i figure no one will be interested in my 'lag' session either. ((double-sigh))
i put a shout out on the 'volunteers' mailing list asking for mentors to submit class suggests to the Mentor Coach Class Request page. so far: nothing's been added. (i guess people rather party, gather, police, and bitch.)
i'm continuing to refine my Mac Primer for Non-Mac Mentors page. i need to make some updates to the Mac OS X (technical issues) page, too.
JIRA ...
i've added a comment (and vote) to the llTargetOmega issue, SVC-1910.

Daily musings and catch-up
so, i finally get around to updating my blog. (god - i didn't know this was going to be such a chore)
what can i tell you? (i guess you don't care & i guess no one else but i will read this, so ...)
well, yesterday i scrambled to finish the «m0» test device for /TV/. i asked that he stress-test (preferable via script) to see if he could find any holes or performance issues. (i expect he'll find none.) i got no reply from him after he accepted my inventory offer. ((sigh))
once that was done, i turned my attentions back to the Buddy Beamer. dunno if it'll ever get used. i'm reluctant to release the source code until i know the new Buddy display system will be adopted. (i'm tired of seeing my code floating around uncredited.) i managed to get it into a distributed package, signed off, went to bed, and then had a "Eureka!" moment. (of course that stopped me from sleeping.) first thing this morning i added the "new feature" i thought of and redelivered the package. (the "new feature" was more like, "shit! why didn't i do that!")
so -- after i delivered the update (the 1st package drop went unack'd), i get an IM from /TC/ that she thinks she's going to leave the Mentors. i was surprised. (rarely do others seem to be as "passionate" as i am.) apparently she had a meeting with several lindens that didn't go too well. she felt they were being unjust, unilaterally judgmental, and stifling. in all honesty, i understand /TC/'s point of view. that being said, i understand (and have 1st-hand experience with) the "parental authority" often displayed by the lindens. (but hey! i "get where they're coming from" to a great degree; i, too, work in an environment where you're challenged daily by uppity people yet must remain cool and collected. at least i get to see RL expressions and body language to help guide my responses.) regardless, in this case i don't think the lindens were being unreasonable. they did offer a fair compromise. maybe after tempers cool ...

Entry #1 - and thus it begins
why bother? why not?!
ok - so i suck (badly - or, well?) at two things: spelling and journaling.
and capitalization? i just loath it! (and i can't even be consistent with that.)
i'll tell you this, though ...
without a better outlet, i'll be sure to complain a lot about 'those around me' and how they can be rather stupid (at times). this is a *personal* blog - which means i say it as i see it, right or wrong; if you get offended, i suggest you transition to another web link.
